In Our Classrooms Thinking Routine
The Importance of Thinking Routines in Our Classrooms
At our school, we practise thinking routines in every class once a week to build habits of reflection, curiosity, and deeper understanding. These short, structured activities help students slow down, observe carefully, ask meaningful questions, and make connections between ideas. Over time, thinking routines strengthen critical thinking, improve communication, and support independent learning. Whether it’s “See–Think–Wonder” or “Claim–Support–Question,” each routine gives children a chance to process and express their thoughts clearly. It’s a small weekly habit with a big long-term impact.
