Foundation Day @ Anand Niketan Satellite Campus
Foundation Day @ Anand Niketan Satellite Campus
The Foundation Day of any school is the date when the school first opened its doors to the public. It is significant not only because of the number of years it has served the community which it belongs to. It is likewise significant especially if the founding of the school has resulted in considerable benefit to those it serves.
On the 1st of July, Anand Niketan Satellite, on their Foundation day, was host to students from an NGO- Laddoo foundation and Nirmala Niketan school , sharing meals, engaging in sports, dabbling in creative art and craft ,dancing to music and simply put, making new friendships.
In their commitment to educate each child to the maximum extent possible, as equal participants in a society in which all children are given the same opportunities, children from Anand Niketan spent their 18th Foundation Day with their under privileged peers, sharing and caring for them and making the day memorable for each one of them.
The day started with a warm welcome to the students and an introduction to the school and the significance of the special day. Then, the children moved to their respective venues in small groups along with their counterparts from the Satellite Campus. There they had a rollicking time involved in fun filled games and activities like drawing and colouring, making a creative paper lantern, playing dodge ball, participating in a relay race and learning some cool, choreographed moves from their buddies. An enthusiastic dance by these children in the amphitheatre in front of a packed audience proved to be a befitting finale to the lovely day filled with infectious laughter and smiles.
Later, they shared some scrumptious and healthy food with their buddies .
Says Nashy Ma’am, Director, Anand Niketan Group of Schools, ‘Inclusive friendship is a value, which may not always be easy. It requires change of thought of the society as a whole, but the process of inclusion and the encouragement of each individual child allows us to develop the much desired qualities of compassion, empathy, and helpfulness. It can teach us and our children that greater the diversity, the richer our capacity to create a more humane and respectful society. What better way could have been there of celebrating the school Foundation Day than to spend it with these children full of talent and energy .’
Commemorating the school foundation day is significant since it is a chance to remind the students about the humble beginnings of their educational institution. The memorable day was a befitting celebration of the grand event which reminded the students of the legacy that ahs been passed on to them and the one that they have to pass on forward .
